Gamla Riksarkivet (The Old National Archives)

Construction began in 1887 and the building was taken into use in 1891, today considered one of Stockholm’s most venerable landmarks. After the previous national archive burned in 1697, the new Riksarkivet was engineered to be Sweden’s most modern and fire-safe building—built without electricity so staff worked by daylight to reduce fire risk.
Welcome Dinner
Step aboard the elegant M/S Riddarfjärden as we set out on a scenic cruise around Saltsjön, taking in Stockholm from its most beautiful side. With its beautifully restored 1930s interior—rich mahogany and gleaming brass—the ship offers a setting of refined elegance, while the upper teak deck invites outdoor mingling under soft lantern light as the city skyline glimmers. A perfect blend of classic Swedish flavours, warm conversation, and timeless ambiance await onboard.

Gala Dinner
Step into the historic halls of Gamla Riksarkivet for an evening of elegance and celebration. A seasonal menu and tailored entertainment set the tone for our gala dinner. Raise a glass with colleagues and friends as we toast EWPA’s milestones and share stories in the heart of Stockholm.
Dress to impress—black tie optional. Like in the good ol’ days!
Company Visit
Join us on a company visit to Valbo Trä in Gävle, one of the largest wood treatment sites in Europe. For two hours we will immerse ourselves on a guided tour in Valbo Trä’s newest addition; a state-of-the-art plant in Skutskär. For a preview of the plant please enjoy the video.

Thursday 25 September
Visit to Drottningholm Palace Theatre including lunch
Drottningholm Palace Theatre was built in 1766 for Queen Lovisa Ulrika, and is one of the best preserved theatres from this time in the world.
Friday 26 September
Optional Old Town walking tour – medieval Gamla Stan and the Royal Palace.
Arrival & Travel to the hotel
- 5 minutes walk from Stockholm Central Station to the hotel.
- By air – Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) is 40 km north of the city. The Arlanda Express train reaches Central Station in 18 minutes.
- By rail – SJ high‑speed services connect Stockholm with Gothenburg, Malmö and Copenhagen.
- By taxi – fixed fare ~SEK 695 from Arlanda to the Sheraton. Use Taxi Stockholm (+46 150 000).
- By Car – The hotel offers parking. Commercial parking is available close by.
